ABOUT ME

My name is Nick and I am an artist based in Norfolk in the U.K.

I always enjoyed colouring and drawing as a child, and pencils, paints and paper were the only thing on my birthday and Christmas wish lists.

But it was when I started secondary school that my love of art really took off, my art teacher put so much enthusiasm into the subject that I was hooked, and he inspired me to follow my passion throughout my life.

My first paid commission was an oil painting of a donkey, but I was not sure then, which medium I enjoyed most, and which direction I wanted my art to take me in.

Then I stumbled across a medium that I had not used since childhood (colour pencil)!

I joined a group of very talented artists, to learn the many techniques involved to produce lifelike drawings of animals.

It is a very slow medium for producing art, but it is very satisfying seeing somebodies pet coming to life on my easel.

When I have any spare time I still like to produce work in other mediums.

I owe a huge amount of thanks to my art teacher, who saw I had a talent and encouraged me to develop my skills further, and will always feel indebted to the art group I joined, who are an amazing group of people who selflessly give their time and help for free!
